Re: International Dust Jackets
I know this isn't really about the dust jackets themselves but for those in the UK there's the next best thing! Clear plastic protectors that work just like a dust cover but with no fancy-schmancy pictures and writing on like those lucky Americans!
I found two sizes that should work for every volume in the set but one gives more leeway than the other, pretty cheap as well.
I'm not sure if they deliver outside the UK but it's worth a shot for those in Europe.

Re: International Dust Jackets
Being about 5 minutes from a Kinkos and 10 from Staples, I can't say I feel your pain here... but have you guys considered having someone over here that does have access to a decent print shop getting a larger number made and shipping it over that way? I assume they'd have some sort of discount for ordering multiples all at once anyway, so that could potentially offset some (probably not much unless there was a giant demand here) of the crazy shipping rates if there was enough interest and everybody didn't want something different.
Someone could ship multiple sets of them to whoever is most convenient and have them distribute them further within Europe when, I'd assume, shipping rates wouldn't be as crazy as shipping a package to each of you in multiple countries from the US (which is probably ~$40US to pretty much anywhere in Europe).

I'd be willing to put money into having someone do that for us to be honest. Makes life much easier.

Re: International Dust Jackets
Just asked at Staples on my way home today and they apparently can't do jackets? I trust Kinkos more anyway and I'm sure they could get it done, but I thought it was a bit odd they couldn't do it without having the order sent to another store.
If nothing else comes up that's better for everyone involved, I may be willing to get them made up and sent to somebody over your way so you guys can get them going from there if you can get the demand up enough. Not really going to be worth it for much of anyone involved if we can't get a large enough order to make shipping worthwhile though. The number of these being made would also determine what it gets packed in. No sense putting ten sheets in a box and paying $50 to ship it off, but at the same time, you wouldn't want to risk shredding any or permanently deforming them by putting too many into a tube just because it's cheaper. Regardless, I'd be sure to get it all as safe as possible if it came to me shipping them.
Anyway, I'll let you guys discuss that option and see if there's any interest before I suggest anything else.

Re: International Dust Jackets
I do have some "good news" relating to this thing and that is that there has just been opened a place that could most likely do the printing.
The reason why it isn't a completely good news is that I'm ridiculously busy with my school right now and too tired pretty much all the time due to working in the school's restaraunt to drag my butt to it's location and ask them any details and they seem to be so small company that they don't have a website either.
Also I don't really think that shipping them from USA would be that good idea if there just is any chance to do them in Europe and save the money...
I AM working on this, but it's just that my school takes pretty much all my time and energy right now so it's slow.

So, after looking like a madman I finally found a printer-ish place here in Gothenburg. Guess what? They don't do dustjackets... Now all hope rests with you Olli.

My suggestion was only really there in case you didn't have any options in Europe. I wouldn't recommend it if you can get it done locally anyway.Winji wrote:Also I don't really think that shipping them from USA would be that good idea if there just is any chance to do them in Europe and save the money...

Re: International Dust Jackets
So I have got this subject slightly further and got a confirmation that the place DOES do dust jackets!
Now I would kinda need somekind of number of people who would want me to get them done for them so I can get somekind of price estimation.
Also the price of sending them all around Europe isn't that huge so I can probably pay the postage fees from my own pocket depending on how many actually would be wanting them.

I'm definitely in for those dust jackets Olli, but I'll pay for my shipping fee's since I don't want you to use up precious money on me
