Re: Shipping update
Aye, I wasent in the first printing order so I dont know if my "vote" counts but we are all bronys after all. You Got to Share, You Got to CareJaketehsnake wrote:I personally Agree with BangorI think it would be a lot more appropriate, as we a group dedicated to FO:E. Not that there is anything wrong with places like Make-a-Wish.What about something related to the story itself? Like an organization that helps people trying to overcome drug addiction? Or even NACoA (a charity for children of alcoholics)? Just throwing out ideas here.

Dude, feel free pay for the font with the extra money. You've gone above and beyond for the project, so the least we can do is help pay for any out of pocket costs with group funds.
I vote for Child's Play, but it's my go to charity. They donate toys and game consoles to children's hospitals and the like.
Edit: I do like the idea of a substance abuse charity for Fo:E, but we should totally donate to Child's Play for Pink Eyes and Project Horizons, they both have a feel for the kids thing going.

I think you have every right to reimburse yourself for that money, you organized this whole thing and if you need some money back you spent out of your own pocket because of it, by all means go ahead. As for a charity, I was thinking maybe Bronies for Good?
Re: Shipping update
I'm thinking we're going to need an actual poll for this eventually.
I'd also vote for it to go to a brony related charity or group that collects money for charity. (ex. Humble Brony Bundle)
But I don't know much about charities and to me it doesn't really matter which one it goes to in the end. It'll go to helping ponies(people) in one way or another.

OR I'm ready to send some money via paypal to pay the money you spent from your own pocket if there is something that would cause problems with you taking it from the extra.
That came out rather badly...
I pay part of what you spent on the font.
That sounds better =I

Oh, I actually co-founded a charity organization. It's also a federal nonprofit, so all of the donated money would be utilized and the donor would be able to write off the amount to prevent getting taxed.
TX/RX Labs is an educational nonprofit. We host classes and workshops for children and adults on science, technology, engineering, and math subjects. We also develop technology for the public benefit, and we make tools available to the public.
When I say tools, I mean serious tools. We offer a factory with over a dozen fully automated machines, ranging from laser cutting and 3d printing to Plasma CAM and milling. We also operate an electronics testing and fabrication center that's built out better than the labs most graduate students have access to, and a biology lab that is capable of and has performed cellular genetic transformation and cryogenic techniques.
I estimate over 10% of the people involved in the organization are bronies. We are busy with a new season of classes, we're currently hosting two public school robotics teams, and we've had volunteers working everyday for over a month on the buildout of our new 16K square foot operations center in downtown Houston, TX.
Rice University recently published an article on us.
In addition, the donated money can be earmarked to affect how we spend it. This could even be "MLP:FIM community outreach". I've been wanting to tour some local schools and do free workshops, and I'd love to attract new minds to the rapid fabrication classes by 3d printing some ponies.
Look, I just made a twilight: http://imgur.com/a/fwI0H
It took a few cents to make on a handmade machine.
A little would go a long way, and everyone would be able to see the results. Thank you for considering!

Of course you should reimburse yourself, and if you don't want to take from the extra money I'm with Olli, just give a paypal account and I'll send money. As for the charity, I'm fine with whatever as long as we don't donate to a single a person. It feels a bit wrong to help just one person when it could feed 20-something children.
