Same story for me, I found this proyect some months ago and I missed the chance to be part of it, of course I'll be extremely careful if I have the chance to get a copy, for now, I gotta keep saving my money if we get some good news about the reserve list (fingers crossed)Winds Requiem wrote:Fragile or not ill just be super careful when reading should i get one. I was unfortunate to not know about this amazing story and printing project until March of this year so I had no option besides reserves list. Patiently waiting for the reserve list is super hard because of how bad i need this treasure.
Also, OVER 1600 pages?!

Just got mine in today! It's incredibly beautiful, but I have to agree the pages are way too flimsy. I can see the text from the next page through it, I'll just be super careful while reading it. Totally worth buying this, I love it!

I see so many complaining about the flimsy pages, besides my jealousy at your fortune to even have a copy, i am a little stumped on how you can complain
Have you NEVER read a bible before? As long as you read the book with each page completely turned on the next without a bright light shining from behind the book, you will be fine. I have had an ancient bible with extremely flimsy pages for well over 15 years and never once have the pages ripped or been ruined, even with frequent use.
I mean this team made a logical desicion by going for this printing style and saved a TON of money. Costs likely could have been double what they were had they gone with much thicker print pages yknow.
So please do not complain about the fact you actually got one, while countless of us are kicking ourselves for not knowing about this in time.
Thank you

I just got mine and it is beautiful. I will definitely be getting a Project Horizon set if the awesome crew of this site end up making one.

I can honestly say that no, I have never read a bible. But the rest is seems accurate.Winds Requiem wrote:I see so many complaining about the flimsy pages, besides my jealousy at your fortune to even have a copy, i am a little stumped on how you can complain

While the pages are pretty thin, I can only see a general darkness where the words are on the opposite side of the page so I can't see it bothering me when I read. And the pages are a bit more durable than would seem on first inspection. Just don't hold the book by the pages and it should be fine when turning one.

I can't disagree. All the pictures I've seen of them look absolutely stunning. If it is the sort of bible pages I'm thinking of, then those are deceptively tough. But even so, this isn't a book you would read in the bath or on the bus. This kind of book is something special. Worrying about the integrity of the pages just means you'll be careful.Winds Requiem wrote:I see so many complaining about the flimsy pages, besides my jealousy at your fortune to even have a copy, i am a little stumped on how you can complain

But complaining to those who may or may not get a copy, not the best way to make friends.
So it is, with a hint of shame, I tell you that mine has just left Newark Airport.
So excited.

Dont feel ashamed to have gotten one. I just do not like seeing people complain about it when they actually got one.Stigpony wrote:I can't disagree. Id be lying if I said I wasnt jealous of everyone that got a guaranteed copy.
I will just patiently continue to wait for the team to finish their well deserved R&R and post info about the reserve copies they have. I have already transferred money onto my card ready to pay the second i get an invoice should i get one...
