While I do like the new formatting and I'm pro-2 books if it means a smaller price (which it is, considerably), I'm not sure how I feel about there not being any art work. I think I'm gonna wait and see until we have a more solid idea of the situation. I know it's unlikely but I'm not sure I'm willing to spend this much money on something I'm not 100% about.

Can I ask: why are you not including the old artwork but are considering adding new? Just out of interest.
As I said in the post, depending on how much time we have and whatnot, there is a chance we will include it, but for the sake of ordering, don't count on it. I'm sorry if that means your decision will be to pass up on the books.

The primary reason for not using all of the old artwork is just because we cannot get all of the original files, and the files we do have, are often subpar resolution. There were other factors in that decision. If you look around the forums, you'll see that there are people who also aren't fans of the chapter art, so please trust us when we say that decision was not made hastily and was not without the consideration of everyone's viewpoint.

Well I personally haven't seen much complaining about the inclusion of artwork, in fact I think I've seen more complaining about it's exclusion, but it's your project so it's ultimately up to you! And if you're struggling to get the artwork in good resolution that's understandable, I'm just gonna miss it! I do like your new formatting though, was just having a proper look at it and I prefer the indention, smaller font and line spacing to the original. I tend to prefer smaller font personally, plus it'll just make it all cheaper!

As I say, still thinking it over if I'm gonna buy.

50/50 on the number of volumes being reduced, but I'm excited again none the less!

I can probably speak for a lot of the people who are going to buy it by saying that we don't really care. The people that don't care just want the books, so they aren't going to weigh in with an opinion either way. Then there are a few, the vocal few, that DO have an opinion, and they proclaim it to the heavens everywhere they can, and say that since they're the only ones who care they must be the majority, while the silent majority just skims over the conversations going "meh, just waiting for them to ship."

Me, I would vote no on the art if I had a choice, but again, I don't care! The version that I read that was posted on Fimfic didn't have art, art was never a part of the original package Kkat came up with, so to me anything in book form is good. :pipshrug:

Wow I sure lucked out. I abandoned this site several months ago after it became apparent the the rekindled fire had died out again. Out of the blue I decided to check out how the site was doing only 3 days before sign-ups started. Lucky me :D

Awesome! It would really suck to miss both printings. :pinkiesad2:
