School is in session and everyone is busy. If you look at the time difference between the finalizing of the first printing and the initial call for orders of the second printing you will see that there were several months in-between. If work is being done, it is likely behind the scenes.
Recall that the second printing call began on January first, during Winter break. In the few minutes I spent scouring I couldn't find when the call for orders in the first printing began, but both printings had planned to ship out are the same time (Septemberish), so I will assume the first call began at a similar time period.
Do not take my word for it, but I expect that if we are to receive good news, it will not be until Winter break or sometime near it.
Or I could be a totally off, who knows. In any case, long waits between posts are to be expected and should not, on their own, be a cause for concern at this point.

Coming from a confuzzled pony over here:
Just need a conformation of the second printing waiting list I saw, is it open so that we can sign up or is it there waiting for the second print?
Would love some facts please
(sorry if I sounded harsh... Just a friendly question)

Long waits are a reason for concern, as this project literally just crashed once, right after a long wait. Even a post every 3-5 days saying nothing but 'yes, we're still working on it' would go leagues to boost confidence in the project. Being too busy to check in and update people is beyond ridiculous - it shouldn't take more than a moment.Fleet Foot wrote:School is in session and everyone is busy. I'm not trying to sound like a dick. I know this project isn't being run by a business or anything, and is entirely volunteer driven, but that doesn't mean it can't be taken seriously
Re: WE'RE BACK And life turns around, makes a liar out of me
"Beyond ridiculous" is expecting someone who doesn't owe you anything, and has no reason to do anything for you, to do anything for you. If you're impatient, that's fine. Go and print yourself a copy; the PDFs are right there and it's not all that much more expensive. If you want someone else to do all of the work, for free, don't make demands of their time.Calessa wrote: Long waits are a reason for concern, as this project literally just crashed once, right after a long wait. As to everyone in general asking for updates; they don't have your money, and they haven't forgotten about this. Subscribe to RSS for any updates, and relax. If it happens it happens, and if it doesn't it doesn't. Nagging won't make any difference.

Can you recommend any companies that will do such limited print runs?

As for me knowing any companies that could do this, I do not.Can you recommend any companies that will do such limited print runs?
The following is just to ensure clarification:
If you do go to an outside company, be sure to follow the guidelines to ensure it is all done legally: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=56
Alright, Here they are. But before you do anything with this please read our conditions -
* These are for personal use only. Personal use qualifies as self binding your own books or using local resources for yourself.
* Personal use can also qualify as putting these onto a personal e-book reader.
* These are not to be re-uploaded. If someone is interested in them please point them to this thread.
* These are never to see the light of Lulu. We were only able to format in the first place under the agreement that lulu would never be involved with Fallout: Equestria.
The rules are few but strict. By downloading the PDFs you are agreeing to the terms. If anyone does not agree to these terms and do as they ask, we will take down the PDFs for a period of time. If this happens multiple times we may take them down permanently. So please, Listen to the terms.
Be careful going to outside organisations to get it done. Please note that the ban on lulu extends to ANY and EVERY self publishing and print on demand site. You are not allowed to publish the book in any way or do anything that would damage the intellectual property of Kkat.
What you are allowed to use are printing services. Be careful when choosing a service and make sure that you are allowed to use them.
Re: WE'RE BACK And life turns around, makes a liar out of me
I try to support a project by suggesting they do something that will boost confidence in the project, but because that suggestion might cost someone literally five minute a week, you treat me like shit? Because they don't have my money, they don't owe me anything? Why should try take a legitimate suggestion? This isn't about patience, this is about having the project appear valid in the eyes of people who might be interested in actually getting the work done at bulk prices. That helps EVERYONE involved.Fedallah wrote:"Beyond ridiculous" is expecting someone who doesn't owe you anything, and has no reason to do anything for you, to do anything for you.
Secondly, no, they don't have my money. But they DID hold on to my money for a ridiculously long time, and never provided the service offered. I don't blame them for that - it was something beyond their control - and I've gotten my refund. But I think if they're going to even suggest attempting a new print run, they need to be slightly more transparent and in-touch with those they are ultimately asking money from. This is not selfishness, it is common sense.
This isn't about patience. I've been patient with this project for a long time, and some people have been patient even longer. It is about quality -- quality of service, and a quality experience for people interested in the project. It's also about being responsible. Follow the (simplified) train of activity that needs to happen for this project to even work:Feballah wrote: If you're impatient, that's fine. - Project is organized
- Signups are opened
- Signups are completed, quote is received from printer
- Money is collected
- Books are printed and shipped to organizer
- Organized ships books to purchasers
Currently, we're basically on the third attempt to complete this process, and we're starting from the top. By coming out and saying 'fuck you, I do this as volunteer work, I'll update when I feel like it', you're essentially asking for people to give money to the project (step 4, above), purely on faith. That's fine and good, except that the second time around, things crashed and burned, hard, after that point. That makes it tougher to give money to the project purely on faith a second time, and giving some regular updates that work is being done, especially after the project crashed, burned and then declared themselves dead due to lack of interest in maintaining the project, regular updates just to say 'hey, we're still alive and kicking' would do wonders to repair the broken trust garnered from previous happenings.
Work isn't being done for free. Just because they aren't personally getting paid for and profiting off of what is being done doesn't mean I'm getting free books. They're still asking people to trust them with money.Feballah wrote:If you want someone else to do all of the work, for free, don't make demands of their time.
Suggestions, intended for the improved experience of any looking to participate, are 'nagging' now? And suggestions are never heard and can't possibly make a difference? That's foolish and shortsighted.Feballah wrote:As to everyone in general asking for updates; they don't have your money, and they haven't forgotten about this. I really want a copy of Fallout Equestria but I do not know where to pay at. I know that the orders were not taken yet... I hope they weren't. If somepony can reply to this comment with the link to where we give the wonderful ponies who are doing this at our money I will be very grateful thank you for your time. Have some Glory and Littlepip just because .
