FoE 3rd Printing - Reserve List
Re: FoE 3rd Printing - Reserve List
I mean I wouldn't mind waiting for that internship to finish if it meant it reduced the price of the book. Personally I wouldn't cut any internship or class time just to pack and ship, so I do admire your dedication.
However, I still don't feel that the price deserved to be double for any of those things. If there's no way to lower the cost of the book I will give up my spot to another paying customer.

Congratulations to everyone who got a book after all from the reserve list!
You guys can definitely sign me up for a printing of PH. I don't care if it's 200 dollars or more.

Re: FoE 3rd Printing - Reserve List
indeed this is the case. the legality of this project is suspect to begin with, but it's generally felt that because this was people paying to have a book printed, rather than people selling the book for profit, they are on much firmer legal ground.jardex22 wrote: I was under the impression that Bethesda and Hasbro would turn a blind eye to this as long as money wasn't made. Isn't bumping the price counterproductive to that end?
there is also the issue that Kkat herself expressly forbade people from making profit on her work. She's made this very clear the times I and others have contacted her and asked permission to use the story in fanworks. she's been extremely lenient with regard to this project, with youtube monetization, with plush making charging just to cover material costs, etc. so there would be hope that people would respect that.
now to your post zem,
on the issue of popularity. Ofcourse this project is very popular, but that popularity shouldn't effect costs in the reserve list as it should be a first come first serve situation. with the doubling of the price tho, you are effectively saying that those with the most money are the only ones that deserve a copy.
On the property issue. I'm sorry you have been inconvenienced and have incurred personal property damage as a result of this project, but it's unfair to force such costs along to the fans that support this. they were not responsible for such damage and did no malicious acts to deserve it.
as for internships. we have all been very patient i feel (some, like those us that have been around since the first printing, even more then others), and we would be willing to wait a little longer if it meant having the better opportunity to get this book.
I would only ask that you reconsider this decision. if for no other reason than it doesn't negatively effect the public view of this project, the printing of all of these FoE related books, as a whole. a positive public perception can only help future projects.

Re: FoE 3rd Printing - Reserve List
Paid for my copy yesterday, and I must say that I'm extremely excited to finally get my hands on a physical version of such a wonderful story. While I may have missed the first two printings, (along with the original run of the third edition) it looks to me that the third is the quintessential version to own.
Now I just have to wait, which is easier said than done.
Regardless, I look forward to this team's future endeavors!

Oh Zemming, you really know how to make us unbearably happy dont you?
Can I just sign up now? Lol.
Im gonna start saving money for the Project Horizons project. Assuming a 5 volume set. Im gonna get a good $150 saved up or so in preparation.
Thanks for everything that you do.

Re: FoE 3rd Printing - Reserve List
With the talk of a PH Printing, would we be able to get a rough estimate of a date for the invoices and/or price?
I'm probably asking too much but I'm not very great with money and the only money I will actually be getting is probably birthday/christmas money ( i'm young, in uni, and got no job :/ )
I just really don't want to miss out on this, I LOVE PH so much and getting a printing of it would be amazing!

Re: FoE 3rd Printing - Reserve List
I would venture a guess that a printing of FoE:PH would take some time to get done. With FoE actually getting printed into one book (imo the way it was ment to be) it is possible for ph to actually fit in a few books. IMO again though, PH was meant to be in 5 books. Something like that would incur more cost, both in printing and shipping, time and effort ( editing, packing, ect..). I would love to have my own copy of PH, so don't take any of this a negative. But my SWAG of the issue would be that it would take a while to get done (1-2 years) and cost north of 150.00.

Considering the author Sombra put PH into 5 volumes, then i am certain they will be released that way. And with enough prior planning and better advertising(like announce the project EVERYWHERE. At a major convention like Bronycon2017. *hint* on the largest FB groups, on the equestria amino app, and get some of the largest brony youtubers who have stated they love FO:E stuff to support the project) and the project would only take a few months. $150 for a 5 volume set is perfectly fine at $30 a volume since each volume is less the the original FO:E in length they shouldnt be near losing money.
TBH if zemming and his team used the advertising methods i stated above, id bet well over 10,000 people would sign up for a copy, probably 20,000+
(Maybe im just crazy tho )
Either way. Bring on PH!!

We have to thread a fine line between advertising and becoming popular "enough" to get a C&D.Winds Requiem wrote:TBH if zemming and his team used the advertising methods i stated above, id bet well over 10,000 people would sign up for a copy, probably 20,000+
