So, have we determined if BookPatch is an allowable printing alternative?

I looked over the site yesterday, it looks okay, but be very sure you do not add it to their store or make it available to anyone but yourself.

Someone has uploaded it to Lulu

http://www.lulu.com/shop/search.ep?cont ... Id=1223463

Anything we can do to take it down before Bethesda/Hasbro notice/take legal action?

I have reported all the volumes and the user account to Lulu. They have been fast in the past in taking these down, so hopefully they will be removed ASAP.

Thanks for letting us know  Normally I get reports about Fallout: Equestria books being added there, but it appears my search script will need to be fixed :pipshrug:

I wanted to ask...

Does this PDF provide the basic cover of the story? (Like on these: http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_maiyf ... o2_500.jpg )

And is it possible to split the story into 3 books instead of 5? (I believe I should be able to print them out into 3 books).

Lastly, possible to remove pictures? I don't care for pictures at all and prefer just to have the story itself!

{Note: Just asking just in case if I need to print them out on my own}.

Hey Jusey1,

The PDF does not contain the cover artwork. Generally people print softcover and use some fanmade art similar to the duskjackets as the cover. There are a couple examples on the forum if you look.

There's nothing stopping you from printing the PDFs in 3 books instead of 5. I will say though, the page numbering would obviously be off, since you can't edit the PDFs.

Similarly, you will not be able to remove the images since the PDFs are non editable.

However, I do have some good news!
I have a nice long thing written up that will get posted, as soon as I can get mod or admin access, which details our plans for the second printing. But since getting access may take a while, here's a brief version.
Currently we are planning on doing two books, since that is the best way to split the volumes. There's no good way to split FO:E up into 3 books, and not have one of the books ridiculously small compared to the others. With two, they should be better proportioned.
I am working on the formatting of the volumes right now, and I have not been using the old chapter art. I'm glad someone else feels the same way about it, since I don't want to be the only one making that decision.

Honestly, if you could stop by the IRC channel here https://chat.mibbit.com/?server=irc.can ... estriabook and let us know why you don't care for the pictures, it would help us a lot when it comes to making our decision. Just a note, if you do stop by, we aren't all staring at the chat, and we're in different timezones. So don't worry if no one respond immediately, just wait a bit.

I hope that help a bit if you decide to print them on your own.

Regards,
zemming

I'll try to get into the chat but I'm on dial-up so I have no idea how well it would work XD.

But I'm cool with 2 books. Asked about 3 books cause I found a site with a 1000 page limit so was thinking of doing something like 600-700 area per book(since I know the story is apparently 2000+ pages long. I just don't know how high above that marker), if nothing happens here though it looks like something will {*yay*}.

Anyways... I'll say why here -AND- hopefully on the chats here soonish... The reason why I don't care for pictures is cause I prefer to use my imagination for a book when reading a story and try to think up what it would like in my own mind. That and I'm busy paying attention to reading the actual story itself, not the pictures and therefore I will never care nor pay attention to any pictures. The only picture related thing I can probably like would be fancy artwork used to maybe split up a section or to make the top of the page fancy, like a symbol or something...

For example, one fancy thing I use (which is text, not a picture) is this:
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬~ஜ۩۞۩ஜ~▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

Quick question: Will the books be numbered on the sides? I don't want to pick-up Book 2 first when I wanted to read Book 1! XD

~Edit~

Oky. I tried that chats and after 8 tries, it worked for a few moments and then the chat just closed itself... Then it refuses to work on all other attempts.

Sorry but I'm gonna have to say screw that chat and am hating that website... You will have to share this post with everybody else there so they know.

We can always just make our own dust jackets later if we wanted, too. Leaving them off saves some costs, and let's us do our own thing, which sounds good to me.

EDIT: And yeah, chapter art doesn't matter the slightest to me. It might be cool, but (considering I have no clue what the old art looked like), I might also not like it. I'd rather just have a plain book with little flourishes like the one you posted.

Jusey1,
I saw you hopped on the chat for a few minutes, sorry it didn't work for you. On dial up a client may work better than the mibbit website if you're still interested.
I feel the same way as you regarding the images.

We're using a revised version of the original section break gears, and memory orbs. So it should look nice and fancy.

Right now we're thinking of stamping the spine with the gears of the volumes in the book. Regardless of what we do, we will have some way to distinguish the two books.

sorathecrow,
Yeah, it's not final yet, but we probably will not do just jackets in the printing run for several reasons. But that could change.
And thanks for saying you'd rather have a plain book without the art. It's good to know I'm not the only one that feels that way.
