Advice?

Post by Party_Pony0326 » Tue Jul 25, 2017 8:52 pm

Hello everypony! I'm not really sure if this is the place or community to be talking about this kind of issue, but I don't know. I just wanted to talk. I mean, we're all bronies, right? We stick together, right? So I suppose I'll just come out with it. And this'll be good because others can come and join in who may have the same issue and we can just all be helped out.

I have a difficult time putting myself out there and have trouble fitting in amongst other people. It seems like everytime I meet someone they're with a friend and adding myself to the mix would just create a third wheel type scenario. And I don't wanna bring anypony down just because I wanna fit in.

I don't know. I've just never really felt like part of a group. Except for being a brony. Because I'm definitely one of those.

And now I'm not asking for pity or attention or any of that mess. Like I said, I hope this can be a post where others can post about their awkward social moments and those of us can grow from it. Unless there's already a community for that. In which case, point me the way!

It's just nice to talk about this with a group and hopefully have some helpful readers. Just nice to get it out there. Sorry if it seems ranty or like I'm an attention grabber. I just needed to do this. Buh bye now!!

Best way I can think of to make some friends is join a local group or club if you're still in school. Something you're interested in, that way there are already people that share the same interests. If there are any brony meetups near you, try one of those.

I met some of my closest friends just through chess club at school or a martial arts school near me.

Trying to make friends (rather than just acquaintances) in class or at work never really happened for me. It happened easier when I was in those social settings where I could break the ice with mutual interests and then went from there.

Hope this helps~

Yeah, same. I've tried with the people I work with, but it never pans out. Others seem to have no trouble with it.

But, I'll keep trying that. I already go a couple things like that. I guess I just haven't met the right person yet. Thanks for your help. =)
