I am not going to lie. This should be the priority over new projects or reprints mostly through just how long people have been patiently waiting. Art is nice, but honestly I would buy it without art long before with art. This is one of the Big Ones. Not a side project and needs dedication to its release over reprints.

Which is why we feel it's so important to dedicate time to developing the same high-quality chapter art, like what we have in our other major printings. Personally I'm a bit ambivalent about art as well, that's why the 2nd edition of FoE didn't include any. But I'm sure glad when we did the 3rd edition we did so with full chapter art. It really does add to the story when done right.

And it is. But there are other stories out there people would love to see reprinted, that we would love to give a special treatment to. If PH won't be ready for a bit anyway, why would we not squeak another printing into the schedule? If you're familiar with the CS concept of pipelining, that's what we're doing here.

Problem with "squeek another printing into the schedule." Is that it is a very slippery slope. We have had a few printings that have been 'Squeezed in', including two more of the Original Fallout Equestria since Horizons was finished. And I think we all have been waiting with baited breaths for quite some time since the story has ended. Last time I checked the only issue is that your waiting on art? Just how long does art actually take? If another story gets a print job and gets art does that mean time was taken away from Horizons to do so?

I'm sorry, but the VERY long wait is frustrating and I like to think I'm saying what everyone is thinking. I think its Horizons time.

:unsuresweetie: I can only speak for myself so that my voice isn't co-opted. Years ago, when I lacked the confidence that the fandom wouldn't just disappear without a moment's notice, I would have agreed because I'd want the most important things as soon as possible before it was all gone forever. But it's not like that now, and while there's always the anxiety of a stellar EMP or a cyberwar spontaneously annihilating all the data, I know that I'll just be happy whenever Project Horizons does become available.
The cursory reading I did on pipelining implies that PH really isn't being stifled. but I don't know the mechanics behind all the books becoming published here, so I don't know a thing. :bjpshrug:

It is taking a bit of time, but I can't imagine how much planning they've had to put into this. The first printing of FOE was, what, 5 books? And that was a story with only 620,000 words spanning 47.5 chapters. Project Horizons is an absolute beast compared to that at 1,780,000 words over 78 chapters. Yeah, they're going to have to adjust things. Figure out how to make the books (because there will be multiple) as good as possible, while still keeping the price at something people will pay. Add to that chapter art for 78 chapters on something they're not making a profit on, and yeah, this is going to take some time. Patience is your friend. :bwalk:

I don't want to see this, after all.

The Ministry of Image Print Run of the series ran for Nine Books. I have no issue paying for that many books. The series is doable.

I ordered the MoI PH books as soon as I realized they existed. They aren't quite as fancy as an Absolutely Everything production in my opinion, but they're perfect for actually reading instead of jealously safe-guarding as a collectible (as I would with any AE purchase).
I'm also impatient for an AE release and plan on chipping in when it does arrive, but just having a physical copy at all has eased my mind on the subject.
And to jump off of C_II_R, I'm personally shocked this project has been going for so long as it has (Thank the Goddesses), and I'm no longer concerned about AE just evaporating one day.

All things considered, I wouldn't mind the team taking their time to ensure it's as stunning as possible. :raritystarry:

Any chance you'd be willing to share a few inside and outside pics of them with us? They are based outta Russia ain't they? I've been looking into them but to have them shipped to where I am is well over $100 in just shipping costs. So that has me a bit on the fence.

I believe MoI has a decent number of customer photos and more info on their own website. This isn't really the place for that.

So this is what the book would look like, I just went to a word to page converter, and relized that yes, with these two books I am missing 200 pages, but with rice paper you would hardly even notice. So this is what were asking for.

I feel awful for opening my books up like this, but still.
