International Orders Ship Today (July 28)!

Post by zemming » Mon Jul 28, 2014 7:31 am

Hey Everyone!
Here's what's going on with everything.
Long story short, we ended up processing the international orders ourselves. So DDBProductions and I met up and got those all taken care of. We have a scheduled USPS pickup today (July 28th). Allegedly they'll try to pick them up on their normal route, but it's literally over a half-ton of books. I spoke with USPS on Saturday, and they said we'd be fine and they'll figure it out. So :pipshrug:

I will probably send out a mass email to all the international people once USPS actually picks them up.

Edit 2014-07-28T14:45-0400: USPS came by and picked them all up. So everything is en route. And I'll send out those emails tonight.

Sorry about the slow response time to emails and whatnot. I've been a bit focused on taking care of the international orders. I'm pretty sure we're all caught up now though.

Regarding Canadian orders: I'm waiting on a response from our distributor about those. I really would've expected tracking to work since it's been 7 days since they shipped. But I'm honestly not sure what's going on.

Why, USPS? Why do your routes send packages through IL, to IA, to WAY over in WA just to get to Kansas? I never get the logistics in shipping. Looking up Federal Way WA, it's known as the "Black Hole" of USPS. That would explain how it pulled a package across a whole continent, I guess. And very much in line with other testimonies I've found, the tracking updates stop after that facility...what a weird system. So it isn't here on their estimated date (mail's come and gone today). I'll give it another couple days and then start making calls, I guess.

Sorry, I really don't know why USPS sent everyone's packages by the scenic route. Mine went from Chicago, to Pennsylvania, then to Michigan. :pipshrug:

Just so you know, I'm not angry or anything. Well, maybe I am at USPS. :twilightsheepish: But not you guys. I almost wish I didn't have the tracking information so I wouldn't have to boggle at each of the stops and detours.

Update: Nothing for Canada yet, unfortunately. Canada Post is still coming up blank, for me at least

Sooo... How is it?

Were e-mails send already? Because I haven't receive mine, but it can also be Gmail's fault.
So I'm asking just in case.

I'm kinda worried, because I'm going to the seaside at 8th and I'm afraid that, because of the delays, the books won't get here before that day. :fluttershysad:

EDIT: Nevermind, I looked at my Gmail (which is displayed in the second window) and there it is.
It wasn't there when I started writing this, so I can only say one thing: Good timing!

EDIT 2: Okay, there IS one thing I want to ask about. It looks like I wrote the name of my city in English (Warsaw instead of Warszawa), but the other things don't have translations (like my street, which has 'ń' in it), so I'm afraid would there be problems because of that (probably not, but I'm still afraid).

Also, the... technical (not sure about using that word here) side of this project is killing me. Happy->Worried->Happy->Worried... and on, and on, and on...

EDIT 3: I meant that would there be a problem because of my city's name being written in other language than rest of the info.

I should stop editting that post and just write a new one...

I uh, kind of didn't send the email out till a couple minutes ago :twilightsheepish:

The books shipped out yesterday and USPS estimates they'll take 6-10 business days to arrive. You should be fine, but it might be cutting it close.

Most normal accented characters printed fine. On the off chance that it didn't, the rest of your address would be fine, there would just be an underscore instead of the character.

Yay. Very big YAY, guys. I'm so glad it is finally happening.
I take it book should be mine in about 10 days?
Just to warn you if anything - books MAY be in my country in 10 days, but it MAY take much more to move further. We have horrible post sistem, which may take 3 WEEKS to send package between two CLOSE cities.
