Actually this answers my question...

I was only worried of not getting a set of books but from reading this, I should fine! I'll just sign up, pay when the day comes, and wait for the books to come in the mail! Yes?

Just to throw in my own two bits: I will buy the books in the second printing no matter what. That being said, I have to side with the 5-book format. I think it just adds a bit of a more badass look to it, like "I have a fanfic that has to be divided up to FIVE books. Who can top that." I don't know, it's just the way I feel about it.
I don't know if this was already mentioned or not, but maybe, if enough people are interested, just maybe, the printing could be split up and everyone could sign up for either the 5-book version or the 2-book version (or both, of course).
Y'know, just a quick thought. :pipshrug:

I think the issue with dividing it up between two versions is economy of scale (if I remember my economics terms)--if they can't get a high enough quantity of either one because the orders are split, they'll BOTH be prohibitively expensive. Getting a price that isn't upwards of 100 bucks or more is dependent on getting as high a quantity for one single type as possible. As I understand it, at least.

Besides, I think two books that are the size of the average wheel of time books is pretty badass. :pipshrug:

This is exactly right (on both points :pinkiebounce: )

All the stories longer than Fallout: Equestria. There's about 10+ more MLP fanfics that's longer than Fallout: Equestria. Longest being a Discord one (Diary of a madman or something like that :pipshrug: ) and that story is at 1.5M+ words, longer than the HP series.

It's just... Fallout: Equestria is like the most famous MLP fanfic. At least the most famous I've seen so far on FiMFiction. (It has the most likes, most faves, etc out of all stories I've seen so far).

Alternatively here's two lists of programs that can read RSS feeds: http://lifehacker.com/google-reader-is- ... er-5990456
http://www.rss-readers.org/list-of-rs-feed-reader/
If you'd like to receive a email you could trying using IF This Then That. A website that allows you to connect "triggers" (such as a new item being added to an RSS feed) to a "action" (such as sending you an email).
https://ifttt.com/recipes/4447-rss-mail
If you do use IF This Then That have a fiddle with it, you can get it to do an awful lot. You can even get it to notify you via SMS if you wish.
Seems legit. Thanks!
callumgare wrote:Ah debit cards are much cooler. All the ablity-to-buy-internet-things awesomeness of a credit card with out the ability for you to end up owing people money (and depending on your bank possibly without any fees either). As zemming said, so long as you've got a Visa or Mastercard logo on your card it'll function exactly like a credit card will in terms of buying stuff on the internet.
Ahh, that is some very welcome news. I've heard tons of horror stories about debit cards. (People losing them and having a thief spend all the money)
I figure as long as I keep mine at home and use it for interweb purchases, there's no harm.
callumgare wrote:That might work fine if you're only dealing with three or four people but as this project will have potentially hundreds of orders it becomes extremely important to automate as much as possible. If we had to check to make sure that everyones paid us properly and then deal with all the inevitable problems that would occur with at least some orders such as not having paid the right amount then we'd never get a change to get anything else done. Using an external payment provider makes it easier for both of us. You just have to stick in your credit/debit card details and you'll be changed the right amount plus have greater assurance that things won't go hang wire. For us it means more time polishing off the book.
I understand now. Thanks.
callumgare wrote:You... You are my new favourite internet hero. :raritystarry: Why didn't I think of drinking coke and eating mentos while listening?
For me FO:E/Scorch helped keep my sanity during my last year of high school.
Did Scorch ever say why the project died or is it just one of those things where life catches up with you and you mean to finish something but you never do?
His voice was pretty amazing. Crazed was a good reader too? Mmm, maybe some point after reading FO:E in book form when I want to dip into the FO:E universe again I'll try Crazed's reading.
How did you make the cola bottles glo? :rainbowderp:
Hahah, you have no idea how happy it makes me to hear that. But yeah, the experience is totally euphoric.
As for scorch, I think he just dropped off the face of the Earth. I never heard anything from him after he left.
And Crazed? That man is a hero, and so are all of his listeners. He started off with Fallout: Equestria, and got better as he went along. FO:E was his first voice acting attempt, and he learned and progressed quite well. He finished FO:E and went on to Project Horizons. Unfortunately, and fortunately, he had to stop. I have no chance of explaining the true heroism and surrealism of what happened between him and his readers, so I'll just ask you to watch this video. It's truly one of the most touching things I've ever heard, and I ain't really the sentimental type. So that means a lot coming from me. :rainbowdetermined2:

Now that that super amazing moment is over with, I'll tell you about my bottles.

I posted the pics and how I built them, but it took a lot of space and was pretty off topic when it comes to the project news. So I made a thread in "Pony Discussion" called "Nuka-Cola/Sparkle-Cola"

Go there, and see what I did to make them glow! :rainbowkiss:
“I would fight to make that bright and innocent past our future once again. Even if it means dashing myself against the evil and cruelty of this wasteland until there is nothing left of me. And then, when I am too broken to go on, I will float my dying body right down the throat of the darkness and make it choke on me.”
– Fallout: Equestria, Chapter 33

Is it possible for you guys to ask for a sample book set from the printing service before we make our payment? To be honest, this change put me off quite a bit...

I don't assume you guys can arrange a separate 5-volume print for the folks who want it?
