Re: Refunds
Ok, so I might try and simplify things (although it might not work out that way) and try to put all questions into the one comment so as to not scroll through multiple. These are not just my questions but those posed by others in the comments. Some of them might sound… condescending however I am merely trying to cover all basis in one hit. My apologies in advance if I do in fact offend anyone.
1. I know that having sent through PayPal my money has been accepted and so you currently have it. By refund you mean to send everybody’s money back to them in full? (Note there might be some people such as myself who paid a little extra just because we felt you deserved it and would like all that money back).
2. By refunding this money, does this mean that the orders are cancelled? More importantly, do we then have to sign up again? Most importantly, if the first two are true, then do those with current orders get priority over the rest? (personally would very much appreciate this if this is the case).
3. If the above is not the case, how do you intend to keep track of all the money refunded and all of the orders?
4. What date do you estimate we will receive our refunds? And by what method will this process be done? (eg. Email sent to us with which we confirm our money sent back to us.)
5. Why is Wepay a better choice to then go through all this effort for? Why can we expect to see different results from this?
6. If we use Wepay, are their any special things we will need to do with them other than a simple sign up? Not sure what their would be but still.
7. What do you mean by “too late in the season?” It seems an odd choice of words when concerning money.
8. For those of us who have waited long enough and are undecided on whether this is now worth the wait or not, are we allowed to take our money and go?
9. Does this mean there will be open time for Project Horizons? (Honestly, the book isn’t finished so I don’t see why you would look at this at all but still a valid question).
10. Why is it now no longer possible to work with PayPal? Are they concerned that multiple people are all sending money into the same account and are no longer allowing transactions to go through? On the surface it seems simpler to fix the issues with PayPal rather than to go through the entire process of refunding and then using another system.
11. If I paid into PayPal via a credit card, will the refund go straight back onto that card? If so, then if that card is no longer in use, for some reason or another, do you wish for use to contact you to set up a different location for the refund?
12. If PayPal gave us trouble last time, why did we go through PayPal again? (Although possibly rude on the surface, might actually have a legitimate reason behind the answer)
13. When do we expect to have to send the money back into you? After the refunds of course but any estimate date of assurance would be appreciated.
14. Finally, when can we expect to get the books?
I think I have covered everything. Can I ask that people do not use the comments to ask these questions again and again. The stress of this and College probably won’t be helped by the same questions being asked again and again. If you do have a question that is not answered by one of the above then I see no reason why not to ask it, but may I ask people do it in a reasonable and professional way.
I certainly appreciate all the work that you are doing and am prepared to wait for as long as necessary. It is a selfless act to take another year out of internships, one which I don’t particularly think you should take just for us but that is not my decision to make. I do ask that you try to answer all of the above questions in as much detail as possible so as to prevent people from asking the same question again. Even if it is as simple as “Next Summer, however we cannot elaborate further than that as of yet. Refunds are much more of a focus at this time.” Then that would be fantastic.
Thank you for all that you are doing and I hope that this has made things that little bit simpler, if not slightly more work to answer. Better if it is all done in one hit in my opinion.

Re: Refunds
I am not with the project, although I can confidentially answer a few of the questions
5. The problem with Paypal relates to the large influx of payments to the account. Paypal then puts the money on hold as an anti-scam policy, I believe until the seller can confirm shipment, before giving the money to the seller. Because they need the money in the account to produce and ship the materials, without access to the money they are stuck. I believe WePay does not have this anti-scam policy and so it should be easier.
7. By too late in the season he means too late in the summer. Many of the people working on this project are in college, and so have a limited time-frame in which to work. It would take too long to re-do all of the payments, resend confirmations and other money-handling, on top of actually working with the printer and shipping the books out. He basically means it will have to wait, probably until next summer.
10. See 5, I assume they have tried and not succeeded.
11. That will most likely be dealt with by PayPal. When I have received payments on paypal in the past, it has gone to the account and not my card, I assume something similar will happen with refunds. I would further assume that if it does not go directly to the card, or if there is some other issue, you will be able to send it through paypal.
13. My understanding is that we will be refunded and then have to wait until next January-ish times to sign up again. I may be wrong on this one though.
14. Probably about 13-14 months from now. Seeing as we have to wait until next summer to start shipping them, and they will most likely ship them in the July-August time-period.

Re: Refunds
Call me crazy, but if # 5 is true, then could we all as the "buyers" file a complaint/ ticket with paypal verifying that the transactions are legit?

Re: Refunds
I'm disappointed, but I understand. After something similar happened with Past Sins, I was wondering about this print run. So there's the answer, I guess.
Thanks for the effort, and maybe next time, the payment service won't be a royal pain.

Re: Refunds
I've received no mail as of yet. Should I be worried?
Albert Einstein said the wise words that humanity's stupidity is endless,
but unfortunately people do not realise this applies to themselves as well. That includes you too.

CURSE YOU PAYPAL! CURSE YOU! ZimYelling.JPG
First the Past Sins print fails to go through paypal and now this!?
Oh well, guess I'll just have to wait longer to own a physical copy of one of my favorite pony stories.
Also, like everyone else, it would be nice to know when refunds get sent out.
Well, good luck with everything and I look forward to signing up again (if required that is) when it becomes available again.
