Sorry for the confusion but there seems to be many people asking this question, either by asking or going as far as asking for the price. For us to have Pink Eye's hard covered, we need to have the sources which is the story actually formatted and the pics drawn for them. While I am glad you guys are excited, lets turn that excitement to productivity and get the first step done. XD

Check what needs to be done on the Pink Eyes page, there is nothing stopping us from formatting while the printing is going.

The time has come everyone. The second printing has begun. Before I get you all more info on how to order a set I just want to take the time to thank everyone for waiting so patiently. Myself and all of the admins thank you very much. Now, on to the second printing info!

For all of you who are getting a set, whether it's your first or your second set there are going to be some actual deadlines this time and some general rules.

[*]Starting from now until February the 17th, you will be able to sign up for a set.
[*]You do not have to pay now but Do not sign up if you will not be able to pay for your books. This makes it harder for everyone.
[*]The reason you do not pay now is because we will be getting a quote after we learn how many people have signed up for books.
[*]The last sets were 73 USD if you need a general idea.
[*]If you can please include your phone number in the sign up notes so we can contact you easier.
[*]When you sign up, remember to set the project as Fallout: Equestria [Second Printing]

Now that the rules have been established, to sign up for your set, go to:

Happy new year everypony.

Hey all, first of all, thanks for being patient through are silence and decided to give an update on where we are.

As for the second printing, this is something that is taking a little longer than we hoped to get ready. The problem is the people that made the first print successful isn't able to do it a second time due to life taking importance. This also includes the staff that we have moved around to fill positions. While this print will go smoother from knowing more, it is also going to take longer to accomplish because of having less time to dedicate to the project. We apologize we couldn't meet demand before the holidays but we are hoping we can get started very early(Jan-Feb) next year.

This doesn't mean we are dead however, while the site is an huge improvement over Facebook, we were saddened that we lost a huge amount of activity when we tried to shift over. The more activity this group has, the faster things get done as we build both momentum and motivation. Here is a list of things we are hoping to get started before the end of the year:

FAQ UPDATE: Sorry this is taking so long to do. XD

PRINTING TUTORIAL: A step by step guide for people so they can set up their own prints or print themselves. covering everything down to legality.

PINK EYES PROJECT: Will be making a detailed list of things we need, from pictures, logos, and fonts, contact with the author soon to get started.

Will add an edit if something has slipped my mind.

Just a reminder for anyone who would like to try their hand at any of the dust jackets, there is now a template. Or of you'd like to just fix up the ones you already have, and check them.

You can find those here: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=76

First thing's first. This is probably a method only those in the US can do, but this is a method that's been tried and has succeeded.

Go to: http://derpy.me/6QXb- This page will take you to office depots file upload page for banners.

Once you reach this page, start uploading the files of the dustjackets you want to print. I suggest doing all 5 at once and going and reading your books while you wait. It will probably take awhile due to how large the files are.

After your documents are uploaded and you continue, there will be a message that pops up asking if you have permission. It is just a formality, don't worry. Just press Yes and continue.

Now, here comes the fun part. You're going to click the blue "modify document" button. These inputs will be the same for any dust jacket you choose to use.

Format: Color - single sided
Paper: Glossy Elite 80lbs
Leave everything else at none.

Next you're going to want to go to modify output size.

On each one you're going to want to put in the dimensions

Book 1: 9.25in X 20.53in
Book 2: 9.25in X 20.59in
Book 3: 9.25in X 20.64in
Book 4: 9.25in X 20.94in
Book 5: 9.25in X 20.89in

Thanks to Charlie Corbett on the facebook page! :lwalk:

We're sorry that it had to come to this but it's far too disorganized. We welcome you all in with open arms, including all of you who are merely lurking and waiting for the second printing. Please bookmark this page and check back often.

Alright folks, get ready because it's UPDATE TIME!!!!!!

As of today, all but a select few of the sets have been mailed out. That means that in just under a week, everyone should have their set. The few of you that are the exception should be receiving an email from me in the next couple of days explaining what the delay is and it should be worked out relatively soon. On a more general note, almost $2000 was left over from shipping due to overestimated shipping costs and a $5 print cost reduction between the price freezing and the actual number of sets that were ordered. As stated towards the beginning of the project, everything that was leftover is going to go to a charity of the groups choosing. However, I want to hold on to the money for the next few weeks to make sure that if any problems arise from shipping errors we will have the funding to handle them. Start discussing the charity you want it to go to in the comments below. Also, if it's ok with everyone I would like to reimburse myself for the font I bought way back during formatting for the book. I didn't think back then that I was going to get paid back and I was fine with it but it was a big hit on my finances and getting that back would really help me out financially. At any rate, let me know what you guys think in the comments.

Hey there everyone,

Just thought I'd shout out a bit of an update. The international shipping was finished not too long ago and they should start arriving for all you internationals. Now this also means that domestic shipping has started! However the timing is such that Alex has to go back to school - this means that shipping will happen only on the weekends. (Fridays and Saturdays.) To give you guys an idea, about a hundred domestics have been sent out so there's between a hundred and two hundred books left before all of the shipping is done and the second printing begins.

As it says in the title, the remaining shipment of volume 4 books has just arrived meaning I can start shipping again. Hopefully I will be able to just enter crunch mode and finish them all by the end of next week but I can't make any promises. I'll keep you posted.

The site will be going down for a couple hours on Friday the 24th at 8:00 PM PST (Saturday the 25th at 3:00 AM UTC) for a system upgrade. It shouldn't take that long, but expect down time. :pipshrug:

Hopefully this will take care of that site error.

UPDATE: Upgrade complete and site seems to be running much better.

Alright, it's about time that I posted a progress update so prepare yourselves.

First off, the status of the books. I don't remember if I told all of y'all that all of the water damaged books are being replaced by the printer but they are. They are expected to arrive at my place around the end of the month but I haven't gotten anything more specific than that yet. Once those arrive I would have been able to move into full shipping mode and just disappear for days on end while packaging books in my basement but as fate would have it, I was unsuccessful in getting this whole thing wrapped up before school started up again. This means that I'm only going to be able to package and mail books on the weekends when I can come back from campus and therefore, it's going to continue to be slow. I'm really sorry about this but there isn't anything I can do.

Second, this website. I really want to get people to move from facebook to here so we can continue to be organized in a singular area but not everyone is going to be willing to have to check a separate website all of the time. While I understand this, moderating two websites and having people have to look in two separate places for information is not something I want to do. I also don't want to step on the toes of those that prefer to use facebook so what I'm going to do is only post the major news updates on the wall and if you have questions for me you will have to contact me on this site.

Third, and likely most important to the vast majority of you, the sign ups for the second printing are going to be starting within this week or so. I will be posting later instructions on how to sign up so keep your eyes open.

Until next time,
Alexander Petzen

Alright, Just an update on the PDFs. They are no longer on the facebook page, and we will not put them on the facebook page. This is because of many reasons. First reason being that it's extremely inefficient to try and allow 1000+ people to download 5 massive files through dropbox. After so many downloads, Alex's and Dylan's dropboxes normally froze for a good amount of time before anyone else could get their hands on it. On top of that, it's hard to find in the massive page of comments and updates. There is also the issue of multiple occasions of our PDFs being used on lulu. We started the project promising to never use lulu. Although we will not put them on facebook, we will have them up on our website here soon. So please be patient and we'll get them out as soon as we can.

Looks like our new site is up and running. From here we'll be posting all of our updates on the project. If you haven't done it yet, go over and register on our forums http://book.fallout-equestria.com/forum/
As for what will happen to our Facebook page, we'll keep it up for now but we'll be moving everything over to here. It is not required that you sign up for the forum but it'll make things much easier.
The forums have our on-topic discussions.
Any questions you have about the first printing, Post them over here: viewforum.php?f=7
For any questions in general make sure you mark your topic icon with a "?" Otherwise we have off topic discussions for all you looking for something to pass the time with as well over in the forums. Have fun~

Alrighty, there are a lot of very common questions that are being asked and we need a place where everyone can get those questions answered.

I'm having trouble using this message forum.
Here's the FAQ for the forums. I have no idea why the forum doesn't have a link to it anywhere so I added it. :pipshrug:

Who made money off of this?
No one ever made any money off of this. They never had, and they never will. Any money left over will be quickly donated to one of the many charities out there.

Isn't X person going to be mad you did this?
We can't say yes but we can't say no. The chances are unlikely since no money was made anywhere and everything that was paid for was precise payments for precise things.

Did you get Kkat's permission to do this?
Yes, we got Kkat's permission, and she was loosely involved in the design process. It's also her wish that we refrain from further proofreading the books, so that there won't be multiple versions floating around.

ABOUT ORDERING: As of now, we are not doing the second order. We will start a second printing after the first order has shipped and we have re-grouped onto a new website. Thank you for your patience.

How much will this book cost?
Check out this post for price estimates

Can I still sign up?
Not quite yet, we are in between printings and need to finish the one we are currently on before we can begin the next round.

Can you ship to (insert country that isn't the United States)?

Where are the PDF's?
Please see This post concerning the PDF files. They are now available for personal use only, not Lulu! Please read the restrictions.

Book Information
The book is being printed as a cloth bound hard back with a foil stamped title and spine. The paper is #50 uncoated offset book paper. The entire story is split up into five separate volumes.

What are the dimensions of the books?
Each book is 9 1/4 inches tall and 6 1/4 inches wide
9.25 in = 23.5 cm
6.25 in = 15.9 cm
The volumes' thickness, in order:

Is the number of available copies limited?
No, everyone that signs up and pays for a copy will receive one.

When will the sign ups for the second printing start?
There is no exact date yet, keep posted.

Is chapter 20.5 included?
Yes it is, at the end of book 2 with a note/warning attached.

Hope this FAQ helps answer a lot of new people's questions!

Lastly Refrain From Spamming
We know you have exciting things to say but as we approach the end of this production cycle we need to be able to see people posts asking questions about the book, pricing, and shipping. To provide a quality service we must be able to respond swiftly without having to dredge up important posts.

If you have further questions ask the admins
They are:

Nathan Cartee (Rainbowdash64)
Alexander Petzen
Dylan Smith (Beatlebrony)

Christelle Carrier (Metapsionic)
